Turning a New Page - December 18, 2017

Merry Christmas! I really hope you’re taking time to think about and appreciate the beautiful truths that make Christmas so amazing. He came to us, pitched his tent among us, and saved us. I’ll never get over His love.

I’ve had some wonderful years of ministry here in the Illinois District. I’ve loved working with pastors, church leaders, and my fellow directors. It’s been a privilege to work for our executives, Pastor Phil Schneider, and Pastor Gary Blanchard. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given to serve God by serving you. At the end of the month, I will be leaving my position as director of the Thrive Church Network to walk through new doors of opportunity that God is opening.

Some of you know that my family and I served as AGWM missionaries years ago in Asia Pacific. It’s always been a desire of mine to return to missions work in some capacity when the timing seemed right. I think 2018 is the right time.

I want to be a “tent maker” like the Apostle Paul, who paid his own expenses so as not to be a burden to the churches. I won’t be itinerating, but instead, I will support my missions work with a coaching/consulting business I’ve set up.

I will continue to work with a number of churches who are working through the Thrive process. In fact, I hope to be starting a brand-new cohort this winter. My coaching classes will now be web-based; I’m planning a new class in early March.

I want to help missionaries who serve in hard places. And I don’t want to limit God by thinking I know how I’m going to do it. I leave that up to Him. I want to embrace every opportunity He gives me.

I would love to stay connected! I will have a Facebook page set up soon, where I’ll post updates. My phone number remains the same. My new email address is jmarkese3@gmail.com

So, I’m turning a new page and writing a new chapter in my life. I know He goes with me into a new future.

God’s Best to you,

Julie Markese
